Finding your voice. Branding basics

From the way you talk to customers, to the products and services you offer, everything should be consistent with your brand strategy and identity.

  1. Understand who you are:
Before you create a brand, it’s important to know what makes you unique and special. What are your strengths, values, and personality traits?
  2. Research your competition:
Look at what other brands are out there that are similar to yours. What do they do well? What can you do better?
  3. Define your brand strategy:
This is like a roadmap for your brand. What is your brand promise? Who is your target audience? What is your brand personality? What is your tone of voice?
  4. Design your brand identity:
This includes creating a logo, choosing colours and fonts, and developing a visual style that represents your brand.
  5. Launch your brand:
Once you have your brand strategy and identity, it’s time to launch your brand. This means creating a website, print promo, social media pages, and any other marketing materials you need.
